Lars Larson Show: Criminal Alien of the Week Report

Lars Larson Show: Criminal Alien of the Week Report

April 25, 2013

Lars:

It has been an interesting third full week in the month of April when it comes to criminal aliens here in the State of Oregon.

Monday, April 22nd, the Linn County Corrections in Albany, Oregon had two criminal aliens incarcerated at the jail United States (U.S.) Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), agents had identified as possibly being in the country illegally. None of the criminal aliens with U.S. DHS–ICE holds at Linn County Corrections were involved in any type of drug crime.

Tuesday, April 23rd, the Northern Oregon Regional Corrections (NORCOR) in The Dalles, Oregon had three criminal aliens incarcerated at the jail, 3.66% of the jail population the U.S. DHS–ICE agents had identified as possibly being in the country illegally. One of the three criminal aliens with U.S. DHS–ICE holds at NORCOR was involved in some type of drug crime, 33.33% of the alien jail population (Marijuana).

Wednesday, April 24th, the Polk County Jail in Dallas, Oregon had four criminal aliens incarcerated at the jail, 3.45% of the jail population U.S. DHS–ICE agents had identified as possibly being in the country illegally. Two of the four criminal aliens with U.S. DHS–ICE holds at the Polk County Jail were involved in some type of drug crime, 50.00% of the alien jail population (Methamphetamine, Heroin and Cocaine).

Thursday, April 25th, the Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton, Oregon had nine criminal aliens incarcerated at the jail, 5.42% of the jail population the U.S. DHS–ICE agents had identified as possibly being in the country illegally. Two of the nine criminal aliens with U.S. DHS–ICE holds at Umatilla County Jail were involved in some type of drug crime, 22.22% of the alien jail population (Methamphetamine).

Beyond the county jail crime reports, we have a news update from the Oregon State Capital about legislation (Senate Bill 833) that would grant some form of Oregon Drivers License (ODL) to foreign nationals illegally in the country (illegal aliens).

Senate Bill 833 is now up for a vote either on Friday, April 26th, or on Monday, April 29th, in the Oregon State House of Representatives.

If SB 833 becomes state law the Oregon Department of Transportation would be required to issue driver license (4-years) or driver permit to applicant who cannot provide proof of legal presence in United States.

What can Lars Larson Show listeners do about stopping illegal aliens from getting ODLs?

There are two things your radio listeners can do to express their rejection of SB 833, drivers licenses for illegal aliens:

First, and most importantly at this time is they can call their Oregon State Representative.

– Find your legislators at: http://www.leg.state.or.us/findlegsltr/

Second, write a letter (e-mail) to their Oregon State Representative asking them to reject the legislation;

– Write your legislators at: http://www.leg.state.or.us/writelegsltr/

Cross: Only persons legally in the US should drive in Oregon

The Legislature should reject Senate Bill 833 that would grant some form of Oregon driver license to foreign nationals illegally in the state under the pretense of the legislation being an issue of public safety.

In an annual report filed Jan. 1 by DMV administrator Tom McClellan — a report required since passage of Senate Bill 1080 in 2008 that required legal presence to obtain a driver’s license — he imparts, “Four years after implementing a legal presence requirement in Oregon, changes in driver licensing requirements have not had a major impact on the rate of unlicensed and uninsured driving.”

In reality, before passage of that legislation, the issuing of a driver’s license some illegal aliens didn’t seem to motivate them in the name of public safety to obtain automobile insurance or in some cases even have a valid driver license. Here is short history of seven victims whose lives were extinguished violently and prematurely by illegal alien drivers who chose to drive impaired and recklessly:

Judyth Anne Cox, 66, of Newberg was killed in Yamhill County on Dec. 3, 2007 by Ignacio Merendon-Zerega, a Mexican national illegally in the state. Merendon-Zerega had six prior DUIIs, most occurring in Marion County. He had no driver license or insurance.

Carma Colleen Smith, 52, of Dayton was killed in Yamhill County on May 11, 2008 (Mothers Day), by Leonel Zurita-Loeza, a Mexican national illegally in the state. Zurita-Loeza was on a diversion for a previous DUII at the time. He had a driver license but no insurance.

Justin Daniel Dougherty, 23, was killed in Lane County on March 4, 2008, by Eduardo Gutierrez-Duarte, a Mexican national. Gutierrez-Duarte had a previous DUII in 2004. He had a driver license but no insurance.

Kay Blaser, 26, was killed in Clackamas County on Oct. 12, 2008, by Fernando Deanda-Moreno, a Mexican national illegally in the state. Deanda-Moreno had neither a driver license nor insurance.

Barbara Jean Bier, 52, was killed in Polk County on Nov. 21, 2008, by Martin Martinez-Aguilar, who had a driver license but no insurance.

Albert Lloyd Rowland, 53, was killed in Multnomah County on May 13, 2010, by Mexican national Alvaro Lugos-Ponce. He had no driver license or insurance.

John Zupan (founder of Zupan’s Markets), 66, was killed in Multnomah County on Aug. 30, 2011, by Edy Porfirio Reynoso-Ramirez, a Mexican national illegally in the state. He had no driver license or insurance.

The driver licenses of the previously mentioned illegal aliens (whose licenses were issued prior to 2008’s SB1080) have been revoked or suspended. But their criminal driving history may not prevent them from driving again in the state. Particularly problematic with SB 833 is the legislation might allow some of them to use a Mexican matricula consular card to re-obtain a valid license.

If past history is any indicator of human behavior, SB 833 is legislation that could once again open up Oregon’s freeways, highways, roads and streets to the slaughter of its citizens by foreign nationals illegally present in the state.

It is unconscionable that any legislator would be willing to sponsor or support such irresponsible and dangerous legislation as SB 833 under the guise of it being a public safety issue.

Only Foreign Nationals Legally Present in the U.S. Should Drive in Oregon

Only Foreign Nationals Legally Present in the U.S. Should Drive in Oregon

April 18, 2013

By David Olen Cross

The Oregon State Legislature should reject Senate Bill 833 that would grant some form of Oregon Driver License (ODL) to foreign nationals illegally present in the state (illegal aliens) under the pretence of the legislation being an issue of public safety.

In an annual report filed on January 1st of this year by Tom McClellan, DMV Administrator, (a report required by law since passage of Senate Bill 1080 in 2008 that required legal presence to obtain an ODL), he imparts “Four years after implementing a legal presence requirement in Oregon, changes in driver licensing requirements have not had a major impact on the rate of unlicensed and uninsured driving”.

In reality, prior to the passage of legal presence legislation in 2008, the issuing by the state of ODL to some illegal aliens didn’t seem to motivate them in name of public safety to obtain automobile insurance or in some cases even have a valid driver license. Here is short history of seven victims whose lives were extinguished violently and prematurely by illegal alien drivers who chose to drive their motor vehicles impaired and recklessly.

Judyth Anne Cox, a 66-year old wife, mother of two and grandmother of six, a resident of Newberg, was killed in Yamhill County on December 3, 2007 by Ignacio Merendon-Zerega, a Mexican national illegally in the state. Merendon-Zerega had six prior DUII, most occurring in Marion County, at the time he killed Mrs. Cox. He had no ODL or insurance.

Carma Colleen Smith, a 52-yeare old wife, mother of seven and grandmother of four, a resident of Dayton, was killed in Yamhill County on May 11, 2008 (Mothers Day) by Leonel Zurita-Loeza, a Mexican national illegally in the state. Zurita-Loeza was on a diversion for a previous DUII at the time he killed Mrs. Smith. He had an ODL but no insurance.

Justin Daniel Dougherty, 23-year old single father of one, was killed in Lane County on March 4, 2008 by Eduardo Gutierrez-Duarte, a Mexican national. Gutierrez-Duarte had a previous DUII in 2004. He had an ODL but no insurance.

Kay Blaser, a 26-year old mother of one, was killed in Clackamas County on October 12, 2008 by Fernando Deanda-Moreno, a Mexican national illegally in the state. Deanda-Moreno had no ODL or insurance.

Barbara Jean Bier, a 52-year old wife, mother of seven and grandmother of five, was killed in Polk County on November 21, 2008 by Martin Martinez-Aguilar who had an ODL but no insurance.

Albert Lloyd Rowland, a 53-year old homeless man, was killed in Multnomah County on May 13, 2010 by Mexican national Alvaro Lugos-Ponce. He had no ODL or insurance.

John Zupan (founder of Zupan’s Markets), a 66-year old father of two, was killed in Multnomah County on August 30, 2011 by Edy Porfirio Reynoso-Ramirez, a Mexican national illegally in the state. He had no ODL or insurance.

Fortunately for Oregonians, for the time being, the ODL of the previously mentioned illegal aliens (whose driver license were issued prior to 2008’s SB1080) involved in fatal driving accidents have been revoked or suspended. But their criminal driving history may not prevent them from driving again in the state.

Particularly problematic with SB 833 is the legislation could allow some of the pre-mentioned killers to use a Mexican matricula consular card to re-obtain a valid ODL.

If past history is any indicator of human behavior, SB 833 is legislation that could once again open up Oregon’s freeways, highways, roads and streets to the slaughter of its citizens by foreign nationals illegally present in the state.

The Oregon families and friends of the seven victims mention above have suffered enough carnage and grief at the hands of illegal alien drivers.

It is really unconscionable that any state senator or representative would be willing to sponsor or support such irresponsible and dangerous legislation like SB 833 under the guise of it being a public safety issue.

Oregonians should contact their state senator and representative and tell them to reject passage of SB 833 for the real long term public safety of all the state’s residents.

Lars Larson Show: Criminal Alien of the Week Report

April 18, 2013

Lars:

It has been an interesting third full week in the month of April when it comes to criminal aliens here in the State of Oregon.

Tuesday, April 16th, the Clackamas County Jail in Oregon City, Oregon had 15 criminal aliens incarcerated at the jail, 3.46% of the jail population the United States (U.S.) Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), agents had identified as possibly being in the country illegally. Four of the 15 criminal aliens with U.S. DHS–ICE holds at the Clackamas County Jail was involved in some type of drug crime, 26.67% of the alien jail population (Methamphetamine and Heroin).

Wednesday, April 17th, the Jackson County Jail in Medford, Oregon had 11 criminal aliens incarcerated at the jail, 4.78% of the jail population U.S. DHS–ICE agents had identified as possibly being in the country illegally. Two of the 11 criminal aliens with U.S. DHS–ICE holds at the Jackson County Jail were involved in some type of drug crime, 18.18% of the alien jail population (Methamphetamine and Cocaine).

Wednesday, April 17th, the Lincoln County Jail in Newport, Oregon had three criminal aliens incarcerated at the jail, 1.85% of the jail population U.S. DHS–ICE agents had identified as possibly being in the country illegally. None of the three criminal aliens with U.S. DHS–ICE holds at the Lincoln County Jail were involved in any type of drug crime.

Thursday, April 18th, the Marion County Correctional Facility (MCCF) in Salem, Oregon had 42 criminal aliens incarcerated at the jail, 10.22% of the jail population the U.S. DHS–ICE agents had identified as possibly being in the county illegally. Ten of the 42 criminal aliens with U.S. DHS–ICE holds at the MCCF were involved in some type of drug crime, 23.81% of the alien jail population (Methamphetamine, Heroin, Cocaine and Marijuana).

Beyond the county jail crime reports, we have a news update from the Oregon State Capital about legislation (Senate Bill 833) that would grant some form of Oregon Driver License (ODL) to foreign nationals illegally in the country (illegal aliens).

Senate Bill 833 is now moving through the Oregon State Legislature being pushed by the likes of State Senator Chuck Thomsen and Representative Mark Johnson, both legislators unrepentant shill’s of Oregon agriculture, service-sector, and construction industries.

First, write a letter (e-mail) to their Oregon State Representative and Senator asking them to reject the legislation;

– Find your legislators at: http://www.leg.state.or.us/findlegsltr/
