Information obtained from the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) indicated on October 1, 2022 revealed that 11 of the 611 foreign nationals (criminal aliens) in the state’s prison system were incarcerated for drug crimes — 1.80 percent of the criminal alien prison population.

Using DOC U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) immigration detainer numbers, the following table reveals the total number criminal alien inmates in the DOC prison system along with the number and percentage of those alien inmates incarcerated on October 1st in the state’s prisons for drug crimes.

Information obtained from the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) indicated on October 1, 2022 that 147 of the 611 foreign nationals (criminal aliens) in the state’s prison system were incarcerated for the crime of rape — 24.06 percent of the criminal alien prison population (Note: The number of criminal aliens incarcerated for rape in DOC prisons does not necessarily equal the number of Oregon residents victimized by the violent crime of rape).

Using DOC U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) immigration detainer numbers, the following table reveals the total number of criminal alien inmates along with the number and percentage of those alien inmates incarcerated on October 1st in the state’s prisons for the crime of rape.

Significant numbers, the 147 criminal aliens in the DOC prison system incarcerated for rape were 16.07 percent of all inmates, domestic and foreign, in the state’s prisons for the crime of rape.

Five Oregon counties Washington (42 alien rapists), Marion (36 alien rapists), Multnomah (23 alien rapists), Lane (14 alien rapists) and Clackamas (8 alien rapists) had 123of 147 criminal alien inmates incarcerated in DOC prisons for the crime of rape — 83.67 percent of the alien inmates incarcerated for rape.

Criminal aliens from 17 Asia-Pacific identified countries were incarcerated in the DOC prison system.

Beyond the DOC criminal alien incarceration numbers and percentages by countries of origin, by crime types or by the state’s counties, criminal aliens from Asia-Pacific countries pose a real economic cost to Oregon tax payers.

An individual inmate incarcerated in the DOC prison system costs the state approximately ($140.87) per day.

The DOC’s incarceration cost for its 52 criminal alien prison population from Asia-Pacific countries is approximately ($7,325.24) per day, ($51,276.68) per week and ($2,673,712.60) per year.

None of preceding cost estimates for the DOC to incarcerate the 52 criminal aliens from Asia-Pacific countries includes the dollar amount for legal services (indigent defense), language interpreters, court costs, or victim assistance.
