Lars Larson Show: Criminal Alien of the Week Report

October 25, 2012

Lars:

It has been an interesting last full week in the month of October when it comes to criminal aliens here in the State of Oregon.

In October 2012, county correctional facilities and jails in Clackamas, Jackson, Linn, Lincoln, Marion, NORCOR, Polk, Umatilla, Washington, and Yamhill counties incarcerated 173 criminal aliens for various crimes that had United States (U.S.) Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents had identified as possibly being in the county illegally.

Clackamas County Jail with ICE Holds (10/08/12): 12

Jackson County Jail with ICE Holds (10/09/12): 13

Lincoln County Jail with ICE Holds (10/09/12): 7

Linn County Jail with ICE Holds (10/11/12): 2

Marion County Correctional Facility with ICE Holds (10/12/12): 39

NORCOR (1) with ICE Holds (10/15/12): 3

Polk County Jail with ICE Holds (10/15/12): 6

Umatilla County Jail (2) with ICE Holds (10/16/12): 9

Washington County Jail with ICE Holds (10/17/12): 71

Yamhill County Jail with ICE Holds (10/18/12): 11

Total ICE Holds: 173

(1) NORCOR, an acronym for Northern Oregon Regional Correction Facilities, incarcerates prisoners for Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, Gilliam, and Wheeler counties.

(2) Umatilla County Jail incarcerates prisoners for Umatilla and Morrow counties and Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.

As a group, for the ten months of 2012, the preceding 10 county correctional facilities and jails incarcerated an average of 168.50 criminal aliens per day with U.S. DHS–ICE Holds.

Because of Governor Kitzhaber still wanting to give Oregon Drivers Licenses to illegal aliens and the Governor directing the Oregon State Police to accept Mexican Matricula Consular Cards as identification at tariff stops, I evaluated how many of the 173 criminal aliens were charged with some type of driving crime or violation.

Of the 173 criminal aliens incarcerated in the preceding correctional facilities and jails, 47 (27.17 percent) of the criminal aliens were charged with some type of driving crime or violation.

Often connected with alien’s charged with driving crimes or violations are the crimes of forgery and indentify theft, 17 of the 173 criminal aliens (9.83 percent) were changed with the two later criminal activities.

Lars Larson Show: Criminal Alien of the Week Report

October 18, 2012

Lars:

It has been an interesting third full week in the month of October when it comes to criminal aliens here in the State of Oregon.

Wednesday, September 17th, the Washington County Jail in Hillsboro, Oregon had 71 criminal aliens incarcerated at the jail, 12.41% of the jail population the United States (U.S.) Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents had identified as possibly being in the county illegally. Eleven of the 71 criminal aliens with U.S. DHS–ICE holds at the Washington County Jail were involved in some type of drug crime, 15.49% of the alien jail population (3-cocaine, 3-heroin, 2-methamphetamine, and 3-marijuana).

This week we have a specific criminal alien of the week to report to your radio listeners.

Eloy Vasquez-Santiago was arrested on September 29, 2012 in San Diego County California and returned to Oregon where in a Washington County courtroom on Wednesday, October 16th, he faced being charged with two single counts of Murder and Identity Theft in connection with the death of Maria Bolanos-Rivera.

After the disappearance Bolanos-Rivera on August 26, 2012, Vasquez-Santiago apparently fled the state to California and then to Mexico. Although his reasoning is unclear at this time, Vasquez-Santiago surrendered on September 29th to law enforcement authorities at the California-Mexico border.

The body of Maria Bolanos-Rivera as of yet has not been recovered by law enforcement authorities.

Including Vasquez-Santiago, the Washington County Jail is currently holding four criminal aliens U.S. DHS–ICE agents have identified as possibly being in the county illegally who also await trial on murder charges; 5.63% of the alien jail population.
