On April 1, 2022 Oregon’s Marion County had 180 of the 660 foreign nationals (criminal aliens) incarcerated in the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) prison system; the county was first in foreign national crime in the state with 27.27 percent of the criminal aliens in DOC prisons.

Information obtained from the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) indicated on April 1, 2022 that 392 of 660 foreign nationals (criminal aliens) in the state’s prison system were incarcerated for three types of sex crimes — rape, sex abuse and sodomy — 59.39 percent of the criminal alien prison population (Note: The number of criminal aliens incarcerated for sex crimes in DOC prisons does not necessarily equal the number of Oregon residents victimized by alien rape, sex abuse and sodomy.).

Using DOC U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) immigration detainer numbers, the following table is a numerical breakdown by number and percentage of the 392 criminal alien inmates incarcerated on April 1st in the state’s prisons for the crimes of rape, sex abuse and sodomy.

Criminal aliens incarcerated in DOC prisons committed at least one sex crime in 24 of 36 Oregon counties — 66.67 percent of the counties in the state.

Seven Oregon counties, Marion (105 alien sex offenders), Washington (95 alien sex offenders), Multnomah (69 alien sex offenders), Lane (24 alien sex offenders), Clackamas (20 alien sex offenders), Yamhill (13 alien sex offenders) and Jackson (9 alien sex offenders) had 335 of 392 criminal alien inmates incarcerated in DOC prisons for sex crimes — 85.46 percent of the alien sex offenders incarcerated in the state’s prisons.

Information obtained from the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) indicated on April 1, 2022 that 54 of the 660 foreign nationals (criminal aliens) in the state’s prison system self-declared their countries of origin as being located in Asia-Pacific countries. — 8.18 percent of the criminal alien prison population.

Criminal aliens from 17 Asia-Pacific identified countries were incarcerated in the DOC prison system.

Some background information, all 54 criminal aliens incarcerated in the DOC prison system from Asia-Pacific countries were identified by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and have ICE immigration detainers placed on them.

Beyond the DOC criminal alien incarceration numbers and percentages by countries of origin, by crime types or by the state’s counties, criminal aliens from Asia-Pacific countries pose a real economic cost to Oregon tax payers.

An individual inmate incarcerated in the DOC prison system costs the state approximately ($116.89) per day.

The DOC’s incarceration cost for its 54 criminal alien prison population from Asia-Pacific countries is approximately ($6,312.06) per day, ($44,184.42) per week and ($2,303,901.90) per year.

None of preceding cost estimates for the DOC to incarcerate the 54 criminal aliens from Asia-Pacific countries includes the dollar amount for legal services (indigent defense), language interpreters, court costs, or victim assistance.

Seven Oregon counties, Marion (153 MEX national inmates), Washington (107 MEX national inmates), Multnomah (78 MEX national inmates), Clackamas (27 MEX national inmates), Lane (27 MEX national inmates), Umatilla (20 MEX national inmates) and Jackson (18 MEX national inmates) had 434 of the 523 Mexican national inmates incarcerated in DOC prisons — 82.22 percent of the MEX national inmates.

Beyond the DOC Mexican national incarceration numbers and incarceration percentages, per county and per type of crime, criminal aliens from Mexico place a substantial economic burden on Oregonians.

An individual inmate incarcerated in the DOC prison system costs the state approximately ($116.89) per day.

The DOC’s incarceration cost for 523 Mexican national inmates is approximately ($61,133.47) per day, ($427,934.29) per week, and ($22,313,716.55) per year.

None of preceding cost estimates for the DOC to incarcerate the 523 Mexican national inmates includes the dollar amount for legal services (indigent defense), language interpreters, court costs, or victim assistance.
