Oregonians who are registered voters, here is a political fact of life for the preceding members of the Oregon State Legislature who voted for SB 833, a vote to give the undocumented driver’s cards, many will have to face the state’s voters in the relatively near future; all state representatives every two years and half of the state senators every four years.

Here are two important facts Oregon registered voters should share with their legislators who voted for SB 833 in 2013, who are also seeking reelection in 2014:

First, more than 70,973 of the state’s registered voters (many of them legislators’ constituents) signed the referendum 301 petition to stop SB 833 from becoming state law on January 1, 2014.

Second, the undocumented of this state are not the registered voters during the 2014 election cycle who will be voting to return legislators to office that voted for SB 833.

A call to action, Oregon’s registered voters who didn’t like their state senator or representative voting for SB 833 should contact those legislators and tell them to reject any future support for the legislation (See link below to look up who represents you in the Oregon State Legislature).
