Lars Larson Show: Criminal Alien of the Week Report
June 20, 2019
It has been an interesting third full week in the month of June when it comes to criminal aliens (illegal aliens) here in the Pacific Northwest states of Oregon, Washington and Idaho.
This week we take a look at for your Pacific Northwest radio listeners an illegal alien who allegedly murdered a man in King County, Washington.
On Monday June 17, 2019 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Public Affairs Officer (PAO) Tanya J. Roman sent the “Criminal Alien of the Week Report” an ICE Public Affairs’ news release titled “Cooperation between ICE, local law enforcement makes for safer communities.”
Elder Carceres-Coello aka Elder Carceres (ID: 217025211; DOB: Sep 25, 1987), age 31, was one of seven criminal aliens included in the ICE Public Affairs’ news release:
“County jail ignores ICE detainer, Honduran mans suspected of murder after release
In September 2016, ICE located Elder Carceres-Coello, an illegally present Honduran man with multiple prior criminal convictions being held at a county jail in Washington. ICE lodged a detainer with the jail, but in February 2017, county officials did not honor the detainer and released him. In July 2017, Carceres-Coello was again arrested, this time for theft and property destruction. In July 2017, despite criminal charges, convictions and previous immigration removals going back to 2005, county jail officials released Carceres-Coello without notifying ICE. In August 2017, Carceres-Coello was arrested yet again, this time for homicide and robbery. As of June 2019, he being held on both murder and robbery charges at a local county jail.” – Tanya J. Roman, ICE Public Affairs Officer.
Elder Carceres-Coello, a Honduran national illegally present in the country, has been incarcerated since August 24, 2017 at the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle, Washington where he is currently charged with the crimes of Homicide INV, Robbery INV and Murder 2 (Cause No: 17C049561). His bail on the Murder 2 charge has been set at $2,000,000.00. A U.S. Marshal Hold (Cause No: MJ1700386) indicates that Elder Carceres-Coello’s bail has been denied.
The victim of illegal alien Elder Carceres-Coello’s alleged homicidal violence was 48 year old Jonathan Finney.
Adding up the numbers, from the ICE Public Affairs’ news release, King County Sheriff’s Department / King County Jail Deputies did not comply with an ICE issued immigration detainer on Elder Carceres-Coello on two prior occasions before he would allegedly participate in the murder Jonathan Finney in August 2017.
Analysis of the preceding information:
Clearly ICE agents are doing the job that was tasked to them in identifying foreign nationals illegally present in United States, like Elder Carceres-Coello, who has been and is incarcerated at one of the King County Jails.
But ICE agents face an uphill battle in the enforcement of U.S. immigration law in King County, Washington.
Since November 10, 2009 when the Council of King County passed Ordinance 16692 county law enforcement has been prohibited from enforcing federal immigration law.
It is fortunate that Elder Carceres-Coello’s bail has been set at $2,000,000.00 and he has a U.S. Marshal Hold place on him because King County Sheriff Mitzi Johanknecht has been prohibited by a September 3, 2014 Metropolitan King County Council Ordinance 17886 from honoring federal immigration detainers.
Since January 24, 2018 the U.S. Department of Justice has identified King County, Washington as possibly unlawfully restricting information sharing by its law enforcement officers with federal immigration authorities.
What does all the preceding information mean?
Neither the King County Sheriff’s Department / King County Jail Deputies will contact ICE if Elder Carceres-Coello is ever able to make bail and return to the streets of the county.
The consequences of the King County Sheriff’s Department / King County Jail Deputies not being able to contact ICE, so the DHS law enforcement agency could take Elder Carceres-Coello into custody and remove him from the country, is very likely the reason 48 year old Jonathan Finney is dead.
