Lars Larson Show: Criminal Alien of the Week Report

May 31, 2018

Lars:

It has been an interesting last week in the month of May when it comes to criminal aliens (illegal aliens) here in the Pacific Northwest states of Oregon, Washington and Idaho.

This week we take a look at for your radio listeners another illegal alien who is accused of allegedly trafficking drugs in the State of Washington.

On Thursday, April 26, 2018 members of the Lewis County Joint Narcotic Enforcement Team (JNET) along with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team (SET) conducted a traffic stop on a blue 1996 Freightliner tractor pulling a refrigerator trailer with California license plates I-5 just north of Centralia, Washington.

According to press release issued by Centralia Police Department Commander Patrick Fitzgerald the truck was hauling Starbuck’s products between California and Spokane, Washington.

The Freightliner truck was being driven by Carlos Alejandro Luna-Rodriguez, age 22, of Mexicali B.C. Mexico; Luna-Rodriguez was identified by his Mexico Driver’s license. The passenger in the Freightliner truck was Bernardo Olivas-Leyva, age 62, from Fontana, California.

Suspicious activity during the traffic stop by the driver and passenger of Freightliner truck resulted in JNET and SET Detectives’ requesting a drug defecting K-9 being brought to the scene of the terrific stop.

Using the drug-detecting K-9, JNET and SET Detectives’ determined presence of narcotics in the Freightliner truck.

After the drug-detecting K-9 hit on the presence of narcotics in the Freightliner truck, JNET and SET Detectives’ searched the interior of the truck and discovered 90 bundles (126 pounds) of methamphetamine, 2.4 pounds of heroin, several thousand 30 mg Oxycodone pills and several grams of cocaine.

After the discovery of the illicit drugs, JNET and SET Detectives’ arrested Carlos Alejandro Luna-Rodriguez, and Bernardo Olivas-Leyva and they were subsequently transported to the Lewis County Jail in Chehalis, Washington where they are currently being incarcerated.

Both Carlos Alejandro Luna-Rodriguez (ID: 334389; DOB: 09/30/1995) and Bernardo Olivas-Leyva (ID: 334391; DOB: 12/29/1955) have been charged with one count of Unlawful Possession / Delivery / Manufacture of Methamphetamine, two counts of Unlawful Possession / Delivery / Manufacture of Narcotic Drug and one count of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance without Prescription.

Wanting to know the actual current immigration status of Carlos Alejandro Luna-Rodriguez and Bernardo Olivas-Leyva, I contacted via e-mail on Monday, May 14, 2018 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Public Affairs Officer/Spokesperson Carissa Cutrell to investigate if the two men were illegally present in the United States of America.

On the morning of Thursday, May 31st here is what ICE Public Affairs Officer/Spokesperson Carissa Cutrell had to say via e-mail in response to my inquiry for information on Carlos Alejandro Luna-Rodriguez and Bernardo Olivas-Leyva:

“On May 21, ICE lodged a detainer on Mr. Luna-Rodriguez with the Lewis County Jail. I don’t have any additional information on the other individual [Bernardo Olivas-Leyva].”

“ICE only lodges detainers on individuals who are subject to removal from the U.S. This includes individuals who illegally entered the country or who violated the terms of their status in the U.S. Currently, Mr. Luna-Rodriguez does not have legal status in the U.S. And yes, he is from Mexico.” – Carissa Cutrell, ICE Public Affairs

Analysis of the preceding information:

One out of the two men (Carlos Alejandro Luna-Rodriguez) arrested on April 26rd by the Lewis County Joint Narcotic Enforcement Team on various drug charges has been identified by ICE officers as being illegally present in the United States of America.

A disturbing fact, Carlos Alejandro Luna-Rodriguez, the alleged driver of the 1996 Freightliner tractor pulling a refrigerator trailer filled with Starbuck’s products, is an illegal alien from Mexico.

Positive news, ICE officers are continuing to monitor inmates at the Lewis County Jail and placing immigration detainers on illegal aliens incarcerated at the jail.

Lars, the last week in the month of May and another criminal alien report for Lars Larson Show KXL FM 101.1 Pacific Northwest radio listeners.
