Lars Larson Show: Criminal Alien of the Week Report

March 26, 2015

It has been an interesting fourth week in the month of March when it comes to criminal aliens here in the Pacific Northwest part of the United States of America.

This week we put another face to alien crime for your radio listeners — criminal aliens who are committing property type crimes.

Tuesday, March 24, 2015 Idaho 5th Circuit Court Judge Michael Crabtree sentenced Vietnamese national Phuong Hoang Le, age 38, to a 36-month prison sentence for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a stolen bank card.

McCord Larsen, the Cassia County deputy prosecutor, said Mr. Le, had 10 adult felony convictions since he had entered the country illegally, those convictions matching the number of years he has been in country.

A bit of history on this now convicted and sentenced criminal alien, Le’s criminal record goes back as far as 2007, almost eight years ago, when he was incarcerated in the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) prison system for burglary where Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents placed an immigration detainer on him.

Checking out Phuong Hoang Le’s (SID# 11781218) current criminal history in Oregon on (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) indicates that Le has absconded from community supervision in Oregon’s Multnomah County.

The story of Phuong Hoang Le’s criminal activity in this country is most troubling in the fact that ICE officials clearly failed to remove him from the country when he finished his DOC prison sanction; ICE’s inaction allowed Le to go on and commit multiple crimes in at least two states.

Back to Idaho’s Cassia County, Judge Crabtree said he does not understand why Oregon law enforcement officials have not filed felony charges to extradite Phuong Hoang Le back to the state where Le committed his most egregious crimes.

Big picture, Phuong Hoang Le should be on a wanted poster along with some 165,950 criminal aliens ICE officials, managed by the Obama administration, have failed to remove from the country.

Some fast facts:

On January 1, 2015 the Oregon Department of Corrections prison system incarcerated 1,040 criminal aliens (prisoners with immigration detainers); 40 of those alien prisoners (3.85 percent) were serving time for property type crimes (arson, burglary, forgery, theft and vehicle theft).

There were 19 Vietnamese nationals in the DOC prison system incarcerated for various crimes; they accounted for 1.83 percent of the alien prison population:

14-Multnomah County (73.68 percent);
3-Clackamas County (15.79 percent);
1-Marion County (5.26 percent);
1-Washington County (5.26percent).
