Lars Larson Show: Criminal Alien of the Week Report

Lars Larson Show: Criminal Alien of the Week Report

January 30, 2014

It has been an interesting last week in the month of January when it comes to criminal aliens here in the State of Oregon.

This week we celebrate the success of non human crime fighters involved in stemming the tide of illicit drugs entering our state — drug sniffing police dogs.

On Friday, January 24, 2013 Portland Police Bureau officers stopped a vehicle westbound on Interstate 84. After receiving permission to search the vehicle, police officers brought forth one of their best tools in fighting crime “Nikko” the K-9 drug dog.

Put to work, “Nikko” alerted officer’s attention to a large suitcase in the trunk of vehicle. Police Drug and Vice division investigators then obtained a search warrant to check out the contents of the luggage the dog had identified as possibly containing drugs.

Opening the suitcase, officer’s discovered 31-pounds of methamphetamine worth an estimated street value of 1.5 million dollars.

The drug discovery led police officers to the arrest of Nestor Catarino Zazueta-Valenzuela, age 36, the arresting officers charging him with Distribution and Possession of Methamphetamine.

He is currently incarcerated at the Multnomah County Jail, where Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents monitoring jail intakes have placed an immigration detainer on him (See link).

The 31-pounds of methamphetamine taken off the streets of Portland is the largest reported drug bust year-to-date in our state — your radio listeners should find some way to thank “Nikko” the K-9 drug dog extraordinaire.

Lars, the last week of January and another criminal alien report for Lars Larson Show FM 101.1 radio listeners.
