Lars Larson Show: Criminal Alien of the Week Report
January 23, 2014
It has been an interesting fourth full week in the month of January when it comes to criminal aliens here in the State of Oregon.
This week we put a face to alien crime in the state for your radio listeners — an alien criminal activity that occurs far too often in our state — sexual predation against children.
On Sunday, August 18, 2013 Portland Police Department officers were called to a North Portland home where they arrested Pedro Santiago Machi-Menchu, age 21, for his alleged home break in and sexual abuse of a six-year-old girl.
After his arrest, he was then transported by police officers to the Multnomah County Jail where he was charged with Sexual Abuse One and Burglary One.
While he was incarcerated at the county jail, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents monitoring jail intakes placed an immigration detainer on him (See link).
His arraignment occurred on Monday, August 19, 2013 in Multnomah County Circuit Court.
Approximately six months later, Thursday, January 16, 2014 in a Multnomah County Circuit Court room he was pled no contest to Attempted Sexual Abuse One and Burglary One.
On Tuesday, January 21, 2014 a Multnomah County Circuit Court judge sentenced Machi-Menchu to 14-months in the Oregon Department of Corrections prison system for his crimes.
Other news agencies reporting on the trial have identified him as being a Guatemalan national.
According to information obtained Thursday, January 23rd, on the Oregon Department of Corrections, Offender Search Website, Pedro S Machi-Menchu (SID #: 20269313) is currently incarcerated at the Coffee Creek Correctional Institution in Wilsonville, Oregon, the state’s prison intake facility (See link)
