Lars Larson Show: Criminal Alien of the Week Report

November 8, 2012

Lars:

It has been an interesting first full week in the month of November when it comes to criminal aliens here in the State of Oregon.

This week we have an update to report to your radio listeners on a particularly evil criminal alien who was arrested earlier this year.

Monday, November 5th, Juan Carlos Lagunas-Garcia was sentenced to 17 years in the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) prison system for two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of first-degree burglary.

A little background history, on Friday, June 8th the Portland Police Bureau Sex Crime Detectives announced the arrest of Lagunas-Garcia.

Police detectives through DNA evidence connected Lagunas-Garcia with a series of three break-ins that occurred between August 16, 2011 and May 31, 2012 where three young women, one a 14 year old, one a 16 year old, and one a 31 year old, were subjected to various crimes like sex abuse one, strangulation, and burglary.

While awaiting trial for his crimes against the young women, Juan Carlos Lagunas-Garcia was incarcerated at the Multnomah County Jail where United States (U.S.) Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents placed an immigration hold on him.

Some recent history that might be of importance to the women of Multnomah County relating to their personal safety, the county had 93 criminal aliens (all have immigration holds) on October 1st incarcerated in the DOC prison system convicted of sex crimes; 18.56 percent of the DOC alien prison population incarcerated for sex crimes (501 criminal aliens incarcerated for sex crimes).

Breaking down Multnomah County criminal alien sex crime numbers by types, there were 33 aliens serving time for rape, 40 aliens serving time for sex abuse, and 20 aliens serving time for sodomy.

The self declared countries of origin of the 93 criminal aliens from Multnomah County incarcerated in DOC prisons for sex crimes by numbers and percentage (%) per country equated to the following: 8-Guatemala (8.60%), 3-Honduras (3.22%), 67-Mexico (72.04%), 11-others (11.83%), and 4-Vietnam (4.30%).
