Lars Larson Show: Criminal Alien of the Week Report
September 13, 2012
It has been an interesting second full week in the month of September when it comes to criminal aliens here in the State of Oregon.
Wednesday, September 12th, the Marion County Correctional Facility (MCCF) in Salem, Oregon had 40 criminal aliens incarcerated at the jail, 9.80% of the jail population the United States (U.S.) Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents had identified as possibly being in the county illegally. Twelve of the 40 criminal aliens with U.S. DHS–ICE holds at the MCCF were involved in some type of drug crime, 30.00% of the alien jail population (methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine).
This week we don’t have a specific criminal alien of the week to report to your radio listeners.
So let us go more in depth on drug crime in Marion County and across the state.
Marion County on August 1st was second in the number of criminal aliens incarcerated in the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) prison system for drug crimes; 31 aliens (18.13%) of the 171 aliens in DOC prisons.
The self-declared counties of origin of the 31 criminal aliens from Marion County in the DOC prison system for drug crimes by numbers and percentage (%) per country equated to the following: 2-El Salvador (6.45%), 28-Mexico (90.32%), and 1-Russia (3.22%).
Overall, the DOC prison system’s 171 criminal aliens incarcerated in August for drug crimes amounted to 13.79% of the 1,240 aliens in the state’s prisons.
Looking at the overall 1,113 DOC prisoners, both domestic and foreign, incarcerated for drug crimes, the 171 criminal aliens held for drug crimes amounted to 15.36% of DOC prisoners incarcerated for drug crimes.
With 240 Oregonians dying from illicit drug related deaths in 2011 (ten in Marion County), it is hard not to make the connection that some of these 171 convicted alien drug dealers now serving time in DOC prisons may have contributed in some part to the deaths of 2,068 Oregonians over the last decade.
